Questions we get asked first
Can an elevator go into a house that is already built?
Usually, yes; headroom and how much floor can be opened decide the model.
How much digging does the pit need?
It depends on the model: the through-floor lift needs none, and the compact car can often sit on the slab.
Do we need a permit?
Alberta and Saskatchewan exempt home elevators, Manitoba we check first, and we arrange the building and electrical permits.
What power does it need?
A dedicated circuit sized to the model, run under the same contract.
Are your home elevators CSA or UL certified?
The motor and controller can be CSA, UL (cUL) or CE certified, and each model is installed to CSA B44 or B355. What that covers.
Who makes the elevators?
FRANZ builds them, and we install them with the building work.
Where do you install?
Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
What happens in a power cut?
The enclosed elevators move to the nearest floor and open the doors.
Who maintains it afterwards?
We do, arranged at handover.
