CSA certified elevator questions
Is there such a thing as a CSA or UL certified home elevator?
It means an elevator installed to CSA B44, with key parts carrying a CSA, UL or cETL mark.
Is UL certification valid in Canada?
Plain UL is for the US; for Canada, look for cUL or cULus.
What do cCSAus, cULus and cETLus mean?
Combined Canada-and-US marks, where the “c” shows Canadian certification.
Does a European CE mark count in Canada?
It shows EU conformity and is supporting evidence here; CSA or cUL is the Canadian mark.
What is the difference between CSA B44 and CSA B355?
B44 covers elevators; B355 covers platform and stair lifts.
Are home elevators inspected in Alberta and Saskatchewan?
Not by the elevating-device regulator in a private home, though building and electrical permits still apply.

Which certifications can your elevators have?
The motor and controller can be CSA, UL (cUL) or CE certified, as your project needs.
